@crt
Yes, I'm just waiting for the N800 version of OS2008 to be released. It should be just a matter of dropping a bunch of patches, due to the improvements/updates of gtk and gstreamer in OS2008. Hopefully some of the gtk bugs will go away as a result.

@Kevin
mp3 playback works for me, but I haven't had time to look into your problem in detail. It's on my list... BTW, the output in your first comment is all normal, it's the message in your second comment that is pertinent. Did you alter the audio sink in preferences? It should not be altered from the default value. I should remove the other options, really.

Oh, more report: when I try to play a song, the output in the terminal is:

--------------------------------------------------------
/usr/bin/exaile:2701: GtkWarning: gtk_widget_event: assertion `WIDGET_REALIZED_FOR_EVENT (widget, event)' failed
 gtk.main()
Could not create sink gconfaudiosink. Trying autoaudiosink.

Good job! But it won't play my mp3 songs. An error window pops up, containing a line "[10:08:45] autoaudiosink". When I launch it from a terminal, the screen output is the following. How do I fix this? Thanks!

I've just found your weblog while looking for a Ogg player for Maemo in Google this morning. I'll try to install your player this evening and let you know how it works for a "simple user".
